Ian Rankin is the UK's number 1 bestselling crime author. Famous for the acclaimed Inspector Rebus series which has topped the Sunday Times bestseller lists and been adapted into a major TV series, Ian Rankin is also the author of three books which were originally published under the pseudonym of Jack Harvey (a combination of Ian's son's first name and his wife, Miranda's maiden name).

Rankin's latest book is Exit Music. Published on 6th September 2007 in the UK, Exit Music has gone straight in at the No 1 slot on the Sunday Times bestseller list, following a similar positioning for the paperback of The Naming of the Dead, published in July. In Exit Music, Rebus fans can finally find out what happens to Edinburgh's most famous detective in this the last DI Rebus novel. As well as touring the UK, Ian has been talking about the book on BBC R5 Gabby Logan, R4 Front Row, R2 The Weekender, One Word, Classic FM, Smooth Radio, and Radio Scotland, as well as other regional radio stations.
